Maverick Transportation Honored for the 2nd Time

Little Rock, Arkansas – The Arkansas Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an agency of the Department of Defense, announced today that Dale Walters of Maverick Transportation was honored with a Patriot Award in recognition of extraordinary support of its employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve.

According to Richard Green, ESGR Arkansas Program Specialist, “The Patriot Award was created by ESGR to publicly recognize individuals who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees, who like the citizen warriors before them, have answered their nation’s call to serve.  Dale Walters was nominated for being highly supportive of the National Guard and Reserve Service by his Reserve Component employee.  Supportive supervisors are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the nation’s National Guard and Reserve units.” Another Maverick supervisor was presented with the Patriot Award this past September.

“When I thanked Grant Maher for nominating me,” said Dale Walters. “I told him that it isn’t just me, it is the result of a team effort. In actuality, the most important thank you and recognition belongs to Grant and all the other men and women in our armed forces."
