Ruan Announces New Director of Business Development

November 4, 2008, Des Moines, IA - Ruan Transport Corporation has promoted Matt Skembo to Director of Business Development in the Southern California region. Skembo has been with Ruan for 18 months, most recently as Management Trainee.

Skembo received ongoing training at Ruan to help prepare him for his new role, including participation in the Ruan Management Training Program. “The professionalism, mentoring, and call to quality give employees the foundation to achieve every day,” said Skembo.

As Director of Business Development, Skembo’s duties include acquiring new business and building current customers’ business. Skembo will also help customers identify supply chain efficiencies such as backhaul opportunities.

Prior to joining Ruan, Skembo spent more than six years in the U.S. Air Force stationed in several locations around the world. He graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in interdisciplinary studies emphasizing business fundamentals with minors in psychology, natural sciences and mathematics.

Originally from Dallas, Texas, Skembo currently resides in Tulare, California with his wife and three children. In his free time, he enjoys hunting and fishing.
