O&S Trucking Welcomes Local Elementary School
Students from Springfield Immaculate Conception Elementary School visited O&S Trucking Tuesday, March 11th 2008. Thirty students received a guided tour of the O&S terminal. Representatives from each department described the function of the area within the company. At the end of the tour the students met O&S President and CEO Jim O’Neal.
The tour included the experience of what it is like to climb into a truck, sit in the drivers set, and even honk the air horn. O&S Professional Drivers explained some of the main controls inside the truck. The students were especially interested in the truck’s living area. During lunch the students were able to interact with more O&S Drivers. The drivers talked to the students about what it is like to drive a truck across America.
The students asked very poignant, studious questions and were exceptional guests. One of the most important concepts the students learned was that almost every good whether it is construction materials, office and school supplies, toys, books or food, got where it is today by a truck. Tours of this kind assist in developing a life long appreciation of how trucking and Professional Drivers keep our country running.
