recent Michigan Trucking Association (MTA) Annual Safety Awards Banquet. The
less-than-truckload carrier and subsidiary of Con-way Inc. (NYSE: CNW) today
announced that it has been recognized for its exemplary safety record and
practices by the MTA. Con-way was honored with a fleet safety plaque for
Outstanding Achievement in Highway Safety in the General Commodities

presented by Terri Lynn Land, Michigan's secretary of state, at a ceremony
in Lansing in late February.
"Once again, we are pleased to be able to honor Con-way Freight for its
outstanding achievement," said Walter G. Heinritzi, executive director,
Michigan Trucking Association. "Con-way clearly exhibits an ongoing

sponsored by the Great West Casualty Company, one of the largest insurers of
trucking companies in the United States.
"The fact that we won this award two years in a row is a testament to our
drivers' dedication to safe driving practices," said John G. Labrie,

believe winning this award showcases our drivers' devotion to making it a
top priority."
