August 20, 2007, Commack, New York – DOTAuthority.com announced today that it has renamed the Orlando Truckers’ Conference (“OTC”) to reflect an expansion of event locations. The new brand will simply be “The Truckers’ Conference.” A new website www.thetruckersconference.com is currently under construction.
The Truckers’ Conference is being redesigned to focus more on its primary mission of offering educational seminars and workshops to truckers who are interested in starting their own transportation-related businesses. In 2008, the first Truckers’ Conference will be held January 24-26 in Dallas, TX (location TBD). The Truckers’ Conference will return to Orlando, Florida May 15-17 at the Florida Hotel and Conference Center. The final program planned for 2008 will occur September 11-13 at the Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel in State College, PA.
The new program will offer a total of six four-hour seminars over the course of three consecutive days. The workshops will include such topics as: “How to Start Your Own Transportation Business,” “How to Sell and Market Transportation Services,” “How to Find Freight and Set Freight Rates,” and “How to Set Up & Negotiate Contracts.” The program will also offer mandatory training for new drivers, hours of service refresher training, and mandatory reasonable suspicion supervisor training.
Mr. James P. Lamb, a USDOT/STB & FMC-licensed transportation practitioner and president of DOTAuthority.com, will conduct the majority of the seminars, which will include brief 15-minute presentations by related partners and sponsors. Mr. Lamb, a former motor carrier regulator, is a licensed freight broker with over 15 years of experience in the industry. Mr. Lamb’s one-day freight broker training seminars and “Trucking Success” workshops, which cost $500/day to attend, are already offered in major cities across the country. The Truckers’ Conference will now offer new entrants and seasoned transportation professionals a similar, larger-scale program at a much lower rate per attendee. The fee to attend The Truckers’ Conference is just $199 for a one-day pass, allowing the visitor to attend two four-hour seminars. Those wishing to attend all three days may purchase an “All Access Pass” for $500, which will allow entrance into all six seminars. A “VIP Pass” is available, which includes overnight accommodations. Price varies depending upon location.
“All of us at DOTAuthority.com are very excited to be expanding our conference offerings beyond Orlando in 2008 to include Texas and Pennsylvania. We found our educational program was very well received in Orlando in 2007, and we look forward to helping more and more truckers realize their true potential and make more money in trucking.”
Sponsorship opportunities are available for the conferences, starting at just $1,000. Session sponsors ($2,500) will have the opportunity to give a 15-minute presentation… either in person or through a promotional DVD, video or webcast. Sponsors’ logos will be included on promotional and advertising material for the conferences. They will also be acknowledged throughout the conference for their contributions.
