2007 Indiana Truck Driving Championships – Participant Doug Pierce
I attended the 2007 Truck Driving Championship – Champion’s Banquet on Saturday evening, June 9, 2007 at the Indianapolis Marriott North in Indianapolis, IN. This was in recognition of those drivers who participated in the Truck Driving Championships for Indiana and the top three in each class. The winner of each of the eight classes goes on the National Truck Driving Championships event that is to be held this year in Minneapolis, MN.
Doug Pierce (past champion in 1999, 2003 & 2005) proudly represented Ace Doran Hauling & Rigging in the flat bed class this year. This was Doug’s first year back after a couple of years out of this type of competition and although he did not place in the top three, he proudly represented Ace Doran Hauling & Rigging and all owner operators in the state.
To be eligible for competition, a truck driver must drive for an IMTA member company, they must have an accident-free driving record from June, 5, 2005 until June 2, 2006, must be a full-time truck driver for the nominating employer, and must live in Indiana or be based at an Indiana terminal.
