Melton Truck Lines Launches New Programs
Driver Relations Program, LifeWorks, and
Wellness Initiative to Benefit Drivers and their Families
To better serve our drivers, Melton Truck Lines, Inc. is pleased to roll out new programs--Melton Driver Relations Program, LifeWorks, and the Melton Wellness Program to care for our driver health and assist them with family matters while they are over the road. Melton understands the challenges of being an over-the-road driver. While driving is a lucrative career with many benefits, it can also be difficult for the family. Melton Truck Lines, Inc. has always been sensitive to the needs of our drivers and their families and we are excited about to help our drivers lead healthy and more fulfilled lives.
The Melton Driver Relations program, headed up by Karie Gooldy, will give both drivers and their families a contact and a friendly voice to call for questions and support. This department will be available to answer questions, research problems, and address concerns that are important to Drivers and their families. This department will assist families new to the trucking industry as well as families familiar with the life of the truck driver. Additionally, all new families will receive a special packet of information and welcome gifts when they join the Melton family, as well as monthly mailings to keep families connected.
Melton is also pleased to announce a partnership with the LifeWorks employee assistance program. LifeWorks is a confidential, easy to use employee resource program & concierge service designed to help employees and their families. Best of all, it is an all-inclusive resource for our employees and their families. The program offers referrals and free resources for a wide variety of everyday issues such as health, legal, financial, emotional, and parenting just to name a few. These resources are available 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
Melton Truck Lines’ mission for improved employee health and wellbeing was stepped up in 2007 with the opening of a state-of-the-art fitness facility and the addition of Bret Bringham, Wellness Coordinator. Melton President, Bob Peterson, has always been a proponent of healthy lifestyles—especially in an industry known for poor health, smoking, and diabetes.
Bret Bringham, Wellness Coordinator has a degree in exercise physiology and has over 15 year of experience. Melton has plans to expand fitness centers to other terminal locations. Bret is working closely with our drivers to design custom workout and nutrition plans to fit easily into their lifestyle including the Fit Trucker Challenge. Many drivers are already seeing big results in losing weight and gaining energy.
