Logistics Services boosts pay

Logistics Services announced a five cents-per-mile pay increase for owner-operators effective July 3, bringing pay to 95 cents-per-mile loaded and empty on all loads. Including the current fuel surcharge, owner-operators now earn up to $1.14 a mile, loaded and empty. Logistics Services also pays the owner-operator’s quarterly fuel tax. See their ad on page 78!

 

Paschall honors May award winners

Paschall Truck Lines named Robert Davis as its Company Driver of the Month for May and Stephen Grissom as the Owner-Opera-tor of the Month. Davis, a PTL driver for 10 years, has been a professional driver for more than 15 years. Grissom, with 34 years experience, says the best driving experiences were those shared with his wife of 23 years, Linda, because she was able to experience life on the road. John Tarr wins ACT referral prize

John Tarr, a lease operator for American Central Transport, won a $500 gift certificate thanks to the company’s referral program. Tarr referred four drivers to ACT, giving him four entries in the drawing to win a prize. An avid fly fisherman, Tarr used a portion of his certificate to purchase a new fly fishing rod. Maverick driver qualifies for national competition

Maverick Transportation driver Perry Dunn of Birmingham, AL has qualified as one of eight professional drivers who will represent the state of Arkansas in the National Truck Driving Championship in August. Dunn placed first in his class at the Arkansas Truck Driving Championship. Twenty-eight truck-ing companies entered 165 drivers in the an-nual state industry competition. Dunn has been a professional truck driver for 12 years and has logged more than 1.5 million safe driving miles. See their ad on page 69!

 

American Foods Group and Rosen’s Diversified have merged

American Foods Group announced an agreement in principle to create a new national food company, American Foods Group, by combining the operations of American Foods Group and the Rosen Meat Group, a wholly owned RDI subsidiary. American Foods Group, Inc., also includes America’s Service Line. The merger adds plants in NE, SD, MN and VA. See their ad on page 104!
