Gearing up for the Great American Truck Show

In late June, I attended the Great West Truck Show in Las Vegas. It’s always a pleasure to meet so many of our readers in person, and this event was no different.
Now we turn our attention to the upcoming Great American Truck Show in Dallas later this month. For those of you who were not able to attend the Great West Show, I sure hope to have the opportunity to meet you in Dallas. If you are planning on attending, please be sure to stop by our booth (20167).
As you have probably noticed, freight has been on the rise, which has hopefully helped you secure your dream job opportunity. If you have not yet found that dream job, there are a number of trucking companies advertising in this issue for you to contact.
A story recently made national news with regard to the return of the driver shortage, projecting a shortfall of 200,000 drivers for the remainder of 2010 and an additional 200,000 drivers for 2011. The jobs are out there for the taking; seize the opportunity!
If you’re not able to come out to the Great American Truck Show, send us an e-mail about your travels. I once had a conversation with an over-the-road professional who described himself as a “world traveler.” He considered his dispatcher his “travel agent.”
     Safe travels to all.
