Driven Women

Grrr…

I drove thousands of miles to find the best and most common
“Trucker Pet Peeves.” I asked, “What is your No. 1 pet peeve of being a professional, over-the-road driver?”
     9.     “Truckers who talk too much on the CB and say nothing.”
     8.     “Drivers thinking that roads are the Indy 500 and cut me off.”
     7.     Impatient drivers. “Sometimes I just want to stop, get out and pretend I’ve broken down, just to cause a backup.”
     6.      “Women who think they’re truckers and couldn’t back up to save their life.”
     5.     “Truck stops that are old, outdated and have crappy showers.”
     4.     “The cost of…everything.”
     3.     “Dispatchers who have no sense of distance or time.”
     2.     “Being away from my kids for weeks at a time.”
And the No. 1 Trucker Pet Peeve is:
     1.     Traffic. “The economy can’t be that bad, because there are still so many people out here jamming things up! I guess that companies haven’t fired all the bad drivers yet.”
There are still plenty of unsafe, inconsiderate and incompetent drivers out there, four-wheelers and truckers alike. Are you one of them?
Here’s to another year of good old-fashioned pet peeves.
     Cheers,
     GG
P.S. No one had homicidal thoughts this year, and that is an improvement. Right on!
