Trucker terms

GG–I’m too embarrassed to ask this question to anyone else. Please don’t publish this. Well, if you think it’ll help someone else, go ahead, but don’t embarrass me. Can you tell me what these words mean: alligator, lot lizard, O/O and port-able parking lot?
     Kenny Benny in PA

Hey Kenny,
Don’t ever be afraid to ask any trucker a question. They’re all there to help, and we all started somewhere.
•    Alligator – shreds of rubber from tires, usually big trucks that have blowouts. You’ll hear things like, “Alligator in the hammer lane.” That means move to your right.
•    Lot lizard – prostitutes who show up at truck stops and rest areas. They may come knocking on your door day or night.
•    O/O – owner-operator. People who own and drive their own truck.
•    Portable parking lot – car carriers. The trucks that haul cars.
This is one of the more thorough trucker term resources I found online: www.cbgazette.com/slang.html.
And Kenny, take my advice and change your handle. Quickly. Kenny Benny – are you serious? Dude…
     Cheers,
     GG
