Marten Transport announced the following Drivers of the Month for August 2008: Phil-lip and Brenda Mann, Mike Katzenbach, Anthony Watson, Ledor Coleman, Erwin Burney, Ken Jett, Vicki Thundereagle, Brian Bomberger, Janet Medlock, Pablo Waldman, Steve Gaynor, Dan Hellard, Jack Meetze, Doyle Brown, Michael Sullivan, Ronald Byers, Glynn Hintze, Stuart Justin Gibbs, Jeff Clagget, Michael B. Wallace, Jimmy Grady, Danny Drake, Jason Brooks, John Pickett, Scott Fee, Steve Stamper, Ray Boyer, Daniel Veitch, Kenneth Summers, Jr., Tim Dow, Thomas Dixon and Randy Grizzle. To qualify for the award, drivers must be accident-free and meet a minimum of 10,500 miles for the month with 100 percent on-time deliveries.

Maverick honored by Department of Defense
The Arkansas Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an agency of the Department of Defense, recently presented Morgan Forrest, fleet manager at Maverick Transportation LLC, with the Patriot Award. Maverick and Forrest received this award in recognition of extraordinary support of the company’s employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve.

Schneider Logistics earns SmartWay distinction
Schneider Logistics, Inc., a leading global logistics provider and part of the Schneider National enterprise, was named a SmartWay Transport Partner by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Schneider Logistics received the accreditation for its responsible environmental management of its network of 1,200 third-party transportation carriers and commitment to improving their environmental performance. Launched in 2004, the Smart-Way program is a voluntary collaboration be-tween the EPA and the freight industry to increase energy efficiency while striving to reduce greenhouse gases and air pollution.

LinkAmerica rewards top fuel economy performers
