Make your voice be heard!

After working in driver recruitment and retention for 30 years, I’ve talked to thousands of drivers regarding what’s right and what’s wrong with this business. If you ask a thousand drivers for their opinion on something, you’ll get a thousand-and-one different answers. If I had to boil all of the beefs down to one really sore subject, however, here’s what it would be: Drivers want their voices to be heard when it comes to issues that directly impact their jobs, their livelihoods, their very way of life, yet the decision-makers who control the trucking industry never seem to listen to them.
Well, that’s about to change. RAMP Media Group, publishers of Over the Road and Pro Trucker magazines, is teaming up with TRINCON Group to conduct a first-of-its kind survey of fleet owners, owner-operators and company drivers to find out how drivers would improve this industry. The data will help establish national benchmarks as far as the wants, needs and expectations of drivers is concerned, and will be presented to companies to help them address “blind-spots” in the way they recruit, manage and attempt to retain their most important asset: drivers.
Of course, none of this will happen without your input. See page 49 for more information and then visit http://otrprotrucker.com/OTR/survey.cfm to make your voice be heard. Make a difference in your future. Make a difference in the future of the trucking industry. Let it begin today.
