Marten honors drivers
Marten Transport recognized 34 Drivers of the Month for September. Each received a $25 t-check, a certificate recognizing their achievement and a gift from the company store. Qualifying drivers must meet a minimum of 10,500 miles for that month, have no accidents during the month and have 100 percent on-time deliveries. This month’s drivers averaged 13,109 miles for September.

Roehl Transport receives EPA award
Roehl Transport was among a handful of trucking companies honored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for its ef-forts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from truck exhaust. The company received the agency’s SmartWay Excellence Award.

CFI does it the ‘SmartWay’
CFI is a recipient of the 2006 SmartWay Excellence Award. As part of the effort, CFI became the first major truckload carrier to convert its entire fleet of tractors to wide-base tires, which has improved fuel mileage by a solid 2/10ths of a mile per gallon and an additional 2/10ths when coupled with a similarly equipped trailer.

Dart Transit Company announces Contractors of the Month
Dart Transit Company named its July 2006 Contractors of the Month: Juan Garcia of the Dallas Operating Center and Jeff Dahlgren of the Eagan Operating Center. Con-tractors of the Month at Dart are recognized for their on-time performance, dependability and safety record.

Husband-wife team find a home at FFE
Since joining FFE two years ago through FFE’s Clean Slate Lease program, the husband-wife team of Jason and Lynetta Walls have accomplished more than they ever expected. They successfully completed their truck lease, landed a dedicated run and now lease a new 2007 Freightliner Century Class through FFE ‘s Clean Slate Lease Program.

Tri-State team enjoys tricked-out truck
Team drivers Patrick and Greg Baize of Tri-State Motor Transit had their truck “tricked out” as part of CMT’s “Trick My Truck” TV show. The brothers are enjoying the ride and the recognition they’re getting from everyone who stops by to chat, but the best part, says Greg, “is the recognition of what truckers do.”
Armellini recognizes safe drivers
Armellini Express Lines saluted the following safe drivers for October: Wayne Bailey, Roger Bostick, Nelson Deleon, Barry Evans, Daniel Fuller, William Halsomb, Henry Harris Jr., Bernie Letarte, Mario Martinez, Leroy Reitz, Juan Jose Roelly and Gregory Sutton.
KLLM holds Million Mile Banquet
KLLM Transport Services held its annual Mil-lion Mile Safe Driver Banquet to honor those drivers who have driven 1 million or more accident-free miles during their tenure with KLLM. The list included Nancy S. Oxner, who reached the 3-million mile mark, 2-million-milers John L. Lee and Jim Piper, and 33 drivers who reached the 1-million mile safe driving plateau in 2006.
